How to Embed Social Media in Gutenberg

All social platforms follow the same three-step process.

Step 1: Get the Post Link

Open the social platform

Go to the platform where your post lives: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or any other supported source.

Copy the post link

Use the share or copy-link option on the post. The post must be public for the embed to work.

Each platform guide below shows exactly where to find the share link.

Step 2: Add the Custom iFrame Block

Open your page in the block editor

Go to the page or post where you want the social embed. Click Edit to open the Gutenberg block editor.

Add the Custom iFrame block

Click the Add Block button. Search for Custom iFrame. Click the block to add it to the page.

Step 3: Paste the URL and Publish

Paste the post URL

In the right panel, paste the URL into the Source URL field. The post loads inside the block.

Set height and publish

Set Height to match the post. 500px to 700px works for most posts. Click Update or Publish.

Click Update or Publish. Your social media post is now live on your WordPress site.

Posts from private accounts cannot be embedded. The account and post must be public.
